The 2008 Gorge Games freestyle will go down as one of the busiest days in kiteboarding action the Gorge has ever seen. The end of the day proved to have some of the best conditions with a showdown between California’s North team rider rider Jon Van Malson and world number three ranked Best rider Alvaro Onieva. In the end the judges gave Onieva the victory.
Onieve wowed the spectators throughout the day by switching between his strapped board and bindings, often mid heat. Here is a quick video of some of Van Malson and Onieva’s riding from the day.

 It was an exciting final day of competition at the 2008 Gorge Games. Sky Solbach decided to stay and convincingly took home the course racing title. His race board is even being turned into a production race board available for North Kiteboarding this fall.
